We (D) took off the one side from Connor's cot and it is now a toddler bed
Connor is not too impressed just yet and couldn't stop jumping on and off the "bed".
Kendra is over the moon however and immediately jumped on his bed and went to "sleep".
Too cute!
We've laid pillows next to the cot/bed and we will see... but there were no problems going to sleep earlier. We prayed, D read a book and then lights out and not a peep from either of them.
Because of this bed conversion, we moved their room around a bit and I love the new layout - will have to take pics.
I move on very quickly with stuff like this so I'm already thinking - does this mean we don't have to take two camp cots on holiday????
We have one and my friend, Caren, is lending me one of hers.
D's been having problems finding a place to rent a trailer (does anyone know of a place near my side of the world - Bedford/ East Rand?) - all the places want you to take it on Thursday and we're only leaving on Monday. Of course, we have no problem taking it on Thursday but they also want to charge us for those extra days.
I still have two more things to do before I can start getting excited about our little holiday - the presentation tomorrow morning and my monthly talk at the church tomorrow night.
Okay, got to go now - my 20 minutes are up (I was blog-surfing before posting) and I have hair dye on that needs to be rinsed off.
I have been going grey since I was 25....so it's all necessity and I dye my hair my natural colour, dark brown.
Do you dye your hair?
PS A cot is the same thing as a crib. A camp cot is a pack and play :)
My natural hair colour is a number that my hairdresser, Mariette knows.
ReplyDeleteI got some good advice from someone - put a pillow underneath the mattress so that the side that is open is higher and they can not roll off. Works like a charm.
Best of luck, mine will remain caged till they've figured out how to get out. I don't enjoy the idea of them being able to freely roam. I can't wait to see the new room layout.
ReplyDeleteI don't color, half the time I got 6-9 months between hair cuts. My hair is more trouble then it's worth because there is so little of it. I also have blonde hair and my family goes white, so it just get lighter and lighter. SCORE!
That's awesome, Marcia! I hope everyone sleeps soundly! :)
ReplyDeleteI posted recently (in my "a bit about me" post) that I've never colored my hair. Someone commented with the phrase "hair virgin"....hahaha!!! I will color when I "need" to, but I'm going the cheap route = au natural, until then.
P.S. So glad you enjoyed your massage! I need to book my next one...I'll probably reward myself when J gets out of school for the summer.
I was JUST talking to a neighbour about how life was after we converted the cribs into toddler beds!
ReplyDeleteI haven't greyed yet; I get late-greying genes from my Mum's side. Lucas has a few grey hairs (<30 hairs), and I tease him mercilessly. (For about a month more, Lucas will still be in his 20s, while I'm in my 30s.) I intend to go to my grave with virgin hair; it's a weird badge of honour.
Glad that everything is going good so far with the bed migration.
ReplyDeleteI do dye my hair but only once a year before I go on holiday. Making me beautiful :) Otherwise, I don't see any need for it. Suck that you have been grey since 25 :(
First time my hair ran out of ink was about 30, but it never bothered me. I do colour it every 4 months (because it is sOOO expensive) and I've chosen a colour very close to my natural colour so that you can't see the regrowth. But in my life I've experimented with short, shaved, long, blonde, red... you name it except permed hair and black hair!
ReplyDeleteOn the bed thing -I hadn't thought of taking down one side yet. I might have to put him in a bed when we go on holiday - but for now I'm happy to have him stuck in his cot for my peace-of-mind.
Yay for Connor in the big-boy bed! I see from today's post that it went well. That's great!
ReplyDeleteI have never colored my hair, although the urge strikes me about once a year. Usually in the fall, when I start to think about going to a deep, dark brunette. : )
I color my hair religiously. I have a ton of grays from teaching middle school, infertility, and the Crazies...all three have aged me tremendously! I wouldn't have it any other way, but I will definitely keep up on it!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what my real hair color is.
I am so jealous about the toddler beds. We really need to do that. I'm thinking of tackling potty training first, but we'll see...maybe we'll do it all at once. after all, if they have to pee in the middle of the night, they'll have to escape from their "cages," right?
I have maybe 2 grey hairs so have never dyed my hair. I do highlights to add some colour to my pitch black hair though. Haven't done them in more than a year now so when I next go and relax and cut I will probably do so.
ReplyDeleteI am really lucky with the grey hair. My mom is 54 and doesn't have a single grey hair. SERIOUSLY. I seem to have inherited her genes. My Dad's side of the family are very grey from their teens. All my siblings have inherited this.

When my baby sister was in beauty shop school for her beauty degree - she talked me into dying my hair (for her class), and later I let her do it again. We experimented with a blonde/reddish highlights look. My hair is a dark brown/blonde, and lightened to a light blonde easily. Really would love to do again - but NOT at all it the budget. While pregnant with Kendra, my hair darkened to what I call "dead mouse brown".
ReplyDeleteI've got grey hair at 43 - from stress - but not much. When my great grandmother died at 83, her hair was still mostly dark, as is my grandmother's at almost 81, and my mom was still mostly dark at 61 when she died.
Quite by accident, we discovered that adding stevia to the water we drank reduced the amount of grey in our hair ... we haven't a clue why.
Most of the men in my family also have dark hair and a full head of it well into their 70's.
My dad is greying, but mostly his beard. His mom has been grey since 16 from scarlet fever.
