I realised earlier that in exactly two months' time I'll be going back to work.
That is a seriously scary thought because it means I've been on maternity leave for 3 months!!!
Will have to write a proper post because I have such a lot to say about this work thing :)

I'm amazed at how long leave is in what seems like every other country BUT the U.S.! I enjoyed my 8 weeks thanks to a c-section, otherwise it would have been 6! Six measly weeks! Jeeze! You're so luck to have been home so long!
ReplyDelete8 weeks :O 6 weeks!!! :O Crikey. I'm pleased I live in little old New Zealand - but in saying that, we get jealous of the Scandie countries and their generous provisions which are even better than ours. I can't imagine going back to work yet and our baby girl is just over 10 weeks - they're just so little and precious.
ReplyDeleteI read in Switzerland they get 6 months per parent...so, if Dad wants to stay home for 1/2 of the year, he can. 8 weeks isn't enough...anywhere!
ReplyDeleteYes, we can do that here in NZ too :) i.e. split the 12 months between parents.
