A good day

Don't forget to link up your crafty goodness - thanks to those of you who have already done yours. I tried taking a pic in this horrible light of my projects but it was too awful so will have to wait for tomorrow.

*******************************************

**********************************

I slept in this morning til 9:15. And I went to bed at 11 (10 hours of glorious, drug-induced sleep from the back medication).

This seems to be a regular occurence - only thing is it messes up my morning somewhat.

I'm still not too phased because what is better than sleeping? Certainly not gym!

Anywayyyyy...

I had big plans to go to SARS this morning to go change my bank details.

For those who didn't see my comment replying to those of you who said you can change it online, you can't. I phoned them, begged them, did everything possible and the only way is if you appear IN PERSON with all your documents.

When I got there it was a pleasure - I sat for about two minutes and then was helped and I am not SORTED! D says from the time I left the car til I returned it was exactly 11 minutes :)

Yippee - I swear I will never change banks again - I do not need the schlep.

But let's not dwell on the past - it is DONE!

**********************************

We then raced home, I tried to get the kids in wedding clothes as my cousin was getting married. A very casual affair (or so she said) so that just meant clean jeans and a new top for the babies.

D ran out to the library while I was getting them dressed and they flipped when they realised he wasn't here.

I swear they think the sun rises and sets with him.

We got gloriously lost travelling to the wedding but miracle of miracles, we were still one of the earlier ones.

It was good catching up with some of my cousins whom I haven't seen in at least 8 - 10 years and of course, everyone thinks my kids are gorgeous which always helps.

It was a Muslim wedding (my mom's sister got married to a Muslim man and this is her daughter) so was verrrrry different - I loved the casualness.

The children eat like crazy (I suppose this is better than kids who don't eat) - I fed them lunch as we were driving there but they ate full meals there too (where do they put it? in their toes?) and then wanted supper when we got back!

(they don't have worms - I am now on top of this deworming thing - they get done every 6 months - I even mark it down on the calendar).

**********************************

I can't wait for my back to be 100% well again - I have lots of writing I'm behind on, both here and at work. And TONS of commenting - you'll have to forgive me but I canNOT spend another night writhing in pain because of sitting at the computer and making the back worse.

I'm very conscious that my focus for this next month needs to be getting stronger so I'm going to have to find about 30 minutes 3 - 4 times a week to get to the gym and do some exercises.

It's funny that these things always feel like a waste of time but actually I feel better afterwards and will have more energy.

I'll put together my goals for October and blog those tomorrow night.

 **********************************

Don't you love the start of a new month?

An empty slate, all that possibility, etc.

If you didn't do all your goals from September, never fear, "His mercies are new every morning"  (and every month) (Lam 3:22 - 23). I love that God is a God of second chances and new beginnings. And in my case, 3rd and 4th chances too!

I do need to finish up my 30 days of lists (which I have LOVED) and I may do something like this again soon.

So how was your Saturday? And how did you do on your Sept goals?

PS if you haven't clicked over and checked the projects from the virtual craft day, they are ADORABLE. Tell me which is your favourite.

  1. The only list of goals I have right now is my List of 35 which I'm working through. My Saturday was good. Surprised myself with the run I managed and even more surprised that my legs are perfectly fine today! Maybe there is hope for me yet. This year is going way too fast for my liking to be honest and there are some big decisions I'll have to make with regards to my daughter rather soon!

  2. I love your random acts of kindness "reminders", Marcia. Those are beautiful cards, and I'm sure the recipients were so touched. :)

And I'm so glad you had a great time at the wedding! It's a wonderful thing to catch up with family you haven't seen in a long time.

And my Saturday was really good! We gave the girls their tricycles on Saturday morning, and we all had a lot of fun. Saturday afternoon I let them each decorate a cupcake (from what I was making for the baby shower), and they LOVED that. And then Saturday night I had my girls' night out dinner. It's turned pretty cool here, so it really feels like fall. Looking forward to making my first batch of chili for the season, today!

Hope you're having a great Sunday, too!
