If you're the slightest bit observant, you'll have noticed those posters in the pic above EVERYWHERE in Jhb.
There are also other ones that say "bring back your lost lo.ver" or something similar.
At first I thought they were only in my part of town because these photos were taken on one of our many walks.
But all along the way to work they are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. And I work 18.5 km from my home (never forget that 0.5 km).
It's not a new thing, by the way, I just feel like writing about it now :)

Yay! I always look forward to Christmas decorations though we usually put up our tree and decorations a week before Christmas and extend Christmas by leaving up till End of January or February :) though with a new toddler who loves to "clear" things out tree will probably be down by 1st Jan
I've seen plenty of those flowers around. I don't know what their common English name is, but I found them in Spanish I think. Lol. Acasia something something Constantinopla. ;-)

ReplyDeleteThere shall be no decorating until after thanksgiving, regardless if you celebrate or not! I have my panties in a bunch with neighbors having Christmas lights out already. Sheesh! Everything starts earlier and earlier, they brought out Christmas candy before halloween this year. I'm not finished planning my advent activities so no more talk of that holiday at the end of the year!!!
p.s. I might be nearly finished my shopping for that which we aren't speaking!!! :)

ReplyDeleteI love your top - did you know I can not wear knitted tops at all. (The tactile thing) but love th eway they look on other people. I always have to talk to myself in the shops not to buy one.
Our tree usually goes up after my birthday but we had Christmas service at the church last night and I suspect the request to get it out will come soon
Let me shock you. I bought that top (and a matching pink one) when I worked at Sage Life, a gazillion years ago (I left in 2000)..... and they're still going strong!
DeleteThis past weekend was busy but lovely. We blessed Wynand and Nadia with tickets to Afrikaans is Groot in Cape Town and sent them off for a week long holiday. So we are on Oupa and Ouma duty until this coming Sunday.

I usually put the tree up on the 1st! Long story but basically we're early because we'll be away for a week and miss our tree!
DeleteI recently was a tourist in SA and it saw these signs in Ballito as well as Joburg!! We had a wonderful time and well we can always laugh about the zaniness of the place :).

ReplyDeleteHaha. Those signs are TERRIBLE when your kids are learning to read. In CT we also have the tabloids on the lamp posts. "Woman hides tik in fanny" - you try to explain that to a new reader. AWKWARD!!!
